Location : Based Porirua-Kapitilocality andcovers the rapid response function across the entire District.
Contract : Fixed Term, Full Time(1 FTE)

About the Role
This is a 18 monthsecondment opportunity to step into the senior nursing position of ClinicalNurse Specialist (CNS) for the Porirua / Kapiti locality and including a role indeveloping the rapid response function across the district to ensure continuityof care and best practise standards are applied by the nursing workforce. Inaddition, they provide expertise and specialty advice as required throughoutthe organisation. This role will work across the continuum of health carecontributing to the multi- disciplinary team (MDT) with the aim of improvingnursing practices and achieving equitable health outcomes.
Quality improvementis an important priority. The CNS will provide leadership across clinicalenvironments to identify and support practice improvements and theimplementation of evidence-based practice.
Supporting changeimplementation is an important aspect of this role. The environment is one ofcontinuing change. The CNS role needs to be an advocate for the organisation\'sstrategic direction and change programme providing leadership that enables and supportsthe change.
The Clinical NurseSpecialist (CNS) working in mental health, addiction and IntellectualDisability services must actively reflect on their work and practice, they willwork in ways that enhance the team to support the recovery of serviceusers.
The CNS willrespond to the changing needs of the service, performing other tasks asrequired. The
CNS is expected tocontribute to the implementation of District and nursing goals and values, andto promote Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley asa centre of excellence for nursing practice.
About the Team / Service Location
The Local Specialist AdultMental Health and Addiction Services are delivered from three identifiedlocalities (Wellington City, Kāpiti-Porirua, and Hutt Valley-Wairarapa), toprovide the specialist mental health and addiction treatment for tāngatawhaiora who live in each locality. Each locality operates as a single team ofclinicians who provide a set of core functions to the local community from thehome bases.This role is based in the Porirua / Kapiti Locality and willalso require you to attend other localities as part of developing the rapidresponse function.
