About the role
Jasper is seeking a hands-on entry-level Financial Controller to manage the day-to-day finance function across our real estate funds and corporate entities.
The role centres on fund accounting, corporate accounting and consolidations,, investor reporting, financial reporting, audits, tax compliance, and cash management. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and adequate internal processes and controls.
The ideal candidate brings solid technical skills in financial reporting and compliance, with experience in real estate fund structures or private equity fund accounting a strong advantage.
Working closely with the CEO, investment team, and an external CFO advisor, this role ensures reliable financial operations and high-quality reporting that support Jasper’s growing portfolio.
Responsibilities
Fund Accounting & Reporting
- Prepare monthly and quarterly fund financial reports and NAV calculations.
- Maintain the general ledger, balance-sheet reconciliations, and supporting workpapers.
- Track capital commitments, capital calls, distributions, and investor capital accounts.
- Provide variance analysis and concise commentary for management and investors.
- Prepare rent and operating expense recharge invoices for funds managed inhouse.
- Assist with investor distribution payments.
- Oversee monthly creditor payments for all funds, including those managed externally.
Investor & Board Support
Compile quarterly investor reports and capital account statements.Assist with board-pack preparation and respond to ad-hoc investor or management queries.Compliance, Audit & Tax
Coordinate annual fund audits and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS / GAAP.Ensure timely GST / VAT, income-tax, and other regulatory filings for fund entities.Maintain basic internal controls and assist in updating finance policies and procedures.Treasury & Cash Management
Monitor fund cash positions, manage payments, and perform routine bank reconciliations.Support cash-flow forecasting and basic FX or interest-rate risk monitoring.Process Improvement & Systems
Help streamline month-end close, reporting workflows, and system efficiencies.Document procedures to support scalability as assets under management grow.Corporate Finance Support
Prepare management-company accounts and assist with payroll and expense processing.Support annual corporate tax filings and maintain banking relationships as needed.Prepare annual financial statements including the consolidated Group accounts. .Requirements
3–5 years experience in fund accounting, audit, or financial control within real estate, private equity, or investment funds.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.CA / CPA (or equivalent) preferred but not mandatory if experience is strong.Strong IFRS / GAAP knowledge, multi-entity consolidations, advanced Excel / financial modelling, and familiarity with ERP or fund-administration platforms.Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and comfortable working autonomously in a lean, high-growth environment.Desirable Experience & Expertise
Exposure to capital structuring, financing strategies, or new fund launches.Familiarity with FX or interest-rate hedging and other risk-management tools.Advanced financial modelling or scenario analysis for investments.Management accounting, budgeting, and forecasting experience.Hands-on involvement in ERP or reporting-platform upgrades or automation (e.g., MRI or similar).Experience preparing or presenting materials for boards or institutional investors.Knowledge of cross-border tax structuring and multi-jurisdiction compliance.Benefits
