Lead Financial Analyst

Auckland Council’s Group Treasury Division has an opportunity for a Lead Financial Analyst to join the Financial Control unit. This role reports directly to the Group Financial Reporting Manager. This is a critical role for Auckland Council, supporting financial reporting across key entities and contributing to the integrity of group accounting policies.

You could expect to work on :

• Leading statutory and management reporting for Auckland Future Fund, Houkura (Independent Māori Statutory Board), and co-governance entities.
• Coordinating and supporting external audits.
• Maintaining and enhancing group accounting policies.
• Coaching and mentoring junior team members.
• Supporting technical accounting and preparing high-quality accounting papers.

He kōrero mōu : About you

This role requires experience in the financial reporting and technical accounting space. You will likely have held senior finance roles within large, complex, and potentially political organisations.
