An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced accountant to join the finance team of a well-established, NZX-listed organisation. This is a newly created role, designed as part of a refreshed finance structure that supports the arrival of a new, forward-thinking CFO.

The Role

This Role Plays a Pivotal Part In The Finance Function And Will Take Ownership Of All Aspects Of Financial Control Up To Management Reporting, While The CFO Focuses On Strategy, Commercial Analysis, And Broader Business Partnering. The Position Offers a Healthy Balance Of Technical Accounting, Tax Compliance, Group Reporting, And Treasury Support, Alongside Opportunities To Assist With Process Improvement And Automation Projects. You’ll Also Act As The CFO’s Right Hand In Ensuring a Robust Control Environment Across The Group.

• Maintain accurate financial records, reconciliations, and fixed asset registers.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and support year-end / half-year reporting cycles.
• Manage GST, FBT, and RWT returns and compliance.
• Support treasury and group cashflow forecasting.
• Liaise with external auditors and ensure all reporting obligations are met.
• Provide assistance with group consolidations and board reporting.
• Identify opportunities for system and process improvements.

About You

You’ll Be Either a Recently Qualified Accountant (CA + 1–2 Years PQE) Ready To Take Ownership Of a Full Finance Function, Or An Experienced Accountant Seeking a Stable, Long-term Position In a Collaborative Team. You’re Meticulous, Organised, And Confident In Your Technical Accounting Skills, With The Ability To Balance Hands-on Accounting And Broader Reporting Responsibilities. You’ll Bring :
