Directorate
The Corporate & Finance Directorate is responsible for the development and delivery of financial and business support services to enable the organisation to operate effectively and efficiently. It provides assurance to the Board and Crown monitoring agencies regarding the effective governance, management of financial risk and integrity of the financial management system. It delivers financial control and monitoring, and business support and advice around HR management, organisational planning and reporting, programme management, risk, procurement and property services.
Role Purpose
The role will provide accounting information and advice to assist managers to make financial decisions to manage the business. The role will provide end to end general accounting and financial management activities associated with planning, budgeting, forecasting, management support and performance reporting.
Key Accountabilities
Preparation, analysis and delivery of the annual operating budgets and forecasts.
Evaluate and establish financial business requirements for new projects and activities, assist with developing business cases as required.
Manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure they are involved, informed, and consulted as needed.
Contributes to risk identification at a Directorate and organisational level to manage emerging issues and events.
Contribute to the ongoing development, implementation, maintenance and review of systems, policies, procedures and practices necessary for the efficient and efficient operation of the team.
Ensure knowledge and understanding of health, safety and wellbeing.
Key Relationships
Internal : Financial Control Team; Responsibility Centre managers; Executive Leadership Team.
External : External stakeholders as determined by the work programme; External agencies – either those contacting or with an interest in the work of this team, or those that have similar functions; Audit NZ; Vendors, suppliers, contractors and consultants.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required
The position holder will have :
Good written and oral communication skills; Proven organisation and time management skills.
