For our business, for clients, and for you, Apex NZ seeks a Solutions and Design Lead based in Auckland.
Responsibilities
Lead the Business Solutions team and support the personal and professional development of team members, creating an inclusive and high-performing group of subject matter experts in investment analysis, reporting, process improvement, and systems.
Set and monitor team KPIs; manage staff development through regular one-on-ones and identify training needs.
Ensure service delivery standards for the reconciliation division are met.
Champion Apex values and contribute to a positive work culture that attracts and retains high-calibre employees.
Respond to client questions related to reporting, explain the basis of calculations (including portfolio performance reporting, technical trading activity queries, and related support).
Identify common client queries and provide input on system or collateral development to help clients use the systems across Fund Administration and Wealth Administration.
Collaborate with Business Analysts and Software Developers to determine deliverables; ensure specifications are technically accurate and produce meaningful client results.
Provide strategic advice around investment platform architecture to efficiently deliver required functionality.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders across New Zealand and global contacts to address client needs, operational issues, and opportunities with effective resolution.
Support spreadsheets, VBA macros, and other systems relied upon by the business for BAU processes.
Build and maintain networks and relationships within the industry.
Contribute to onboarding and transition projects across Apex NZ's client base, with a focus on automation opportunities.
Skills Required
Strong technical analysis skills and a problem-solving mindset.
Understanding of key financial mathematics principles including performance returns and attribution is beneficial.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical information in English at an executive level.
Ability to explain and simplify technical concepts; customer service orientation.
Sound understanding of business and industry risk; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel at an intermediate to advanced level.
Knowledge of SQL and VBA is advantageous.
Proactive, positive, and can-do attitude; team player who collaborates well with peers.
Self-motivated and enthusiastic; comfortable working in a changing environment and ambiguity.
