We continue to work with others to achieve equity in key health indicators for Maaori, Pacific and communities with health disparities and will continue to develop and implement plans, based on local needs to improve the health and wellbeing of Counties Manukau region.
Our main sites are Middlemore Hospital, Kidz First Hospital and Manukau Health Park.We are part of Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, the overarching organisation for New Zealands national health service.
HNZ leads the day-to-day running of the health system, with functions delivered at local, district, regional and national levels.
Our team includes nurses, doctors, social workers, psychologist, and occupational therapists who are all trained in core youth health skills.
We provide support to young people aged 12 24 years, who experience complicated health and youth development concerns that have a significant impact on their lives.
We also provide care to young people who have chronic health conditions, developmental concerns, psychosomatic health issues, high-risk health behaviours and gender diverse and transgender health care.This is a great opportunity to meet young people and their whaanau in clinics and then to follow up with them in the community or at school.At Kidz First Centre for Youth Health we believe that all young people have different strengths.
We help by providing them with the information and skills that they need to manage their health and engage with their community.We are looking for a registered nurse with a minimum of 12 months experience, who is adaptable, likes working in a team environment and is interested in developing their youth health skills.
This position is to cover parental leave - until 25 / 09 / 2026
