The Automation department comprises five sections.

The Technical Sales position involves developing and expanding strategic customer relationships.
This requires a proactive, strategic approach to increasing Hyspecs Automation & Control's market presence and ensuring sustained growth through effective business development strategies.
We seek an accomplished sales professional with a proven track record of nurturing strong relationships with partners and customers.
Identify, plan, and develop new customer opportunities within the assigned territory and with channel partners.
Support sales of all automation products, including automation and electrification, linear technology, assembly technology, cobots, and tightening tools.
Review customer applications and collaborate with the automation and electrical teams to propose optimal solutions.
Determine pricing strategies and work with channel partners on pricing, including special agreements.
Contribute to sales, product, and customer support teams with insights on policies, pricing, market trends, and competitive information.
Deliver technical presentations and basic product training as needed.
Assist in driving the specification process and supporting growth at key accounts.
Maintain regular activity reports via CRM, including opportunities, quotations, and account development.
Complete required reports promptly, such as expense reports and business plans.
Participate in sales meetings, training, trade shows, and other initiatives.
Engage in special projects as required.
Travel within New Zealand to meet clients.
Lead project planning and review sessions using tools like Asana.
Estimate costs and manage project budgets.
Maintain comprehensive project documentation.
Manage communication and relationships with clients.
Oversee procurement, supply, and resource allocation.
Ensure timely project delivery.
Collaborate with the design team to develop complete project designs.
Willingness to wire PLCs, drives, motors, and controllers.
Ability to assemble multi-axis gantry systems and work with linear motion technology.
Program tightening controllers and install tightening tools.
Assist with robot programming and installation, including cobots.
Qualifications
Technical qualification or engineering degree with an understanding of electromechanical principles.
Preferably 5 years of sales, hands-on, and technical experience.
Knowledge of automation and electrification products, including PLCs, motion controls, HMIs, I / O, and software solutions.
Ability to use tools effectively.
Proven success in sales strategies and project management.
Understanding of sales processes and project management.
Ability to understand complex technical issues and communicate effectively with non-technical clients.
Experience in conducting technical and sales presentations.
Ability to work independently and in team environments.
Strong time management skills to handle multiple inquiries and meet deadlines.
Eagerness to learn, take ownership, and demonstrate strong organisational skills.
