About the Role
As a Commis Chef at Ryman Healthcare, you'll play a vital role in preparing nutritious, high-quality meals and snacks for our residents and café patrons.
Your culinary creations will reflect our "good enough for mum" standard—ensuring every dish is made with care, precision, and heart.
This is a full time position working Sunday to Thursday, 0600 - 1430 at Rowena Jackson Retirement Village in Invercargill
Your day to day will include :
Prepare and present meals that consistently exceed resident expectations
Bake morning and afternoon teas, prepare supper, and assist with café food as directed
Cook main meals following established menus and standards
Support function and fine dining events with creative and compliant food preparation
Assist with café service and merchandising; provide cover for Barista breaks
About You
To thrive in our supportive and caring environment you will have :
Have or willing to gain New Zealand Certificate in Cookery (level 3)
Catering for special diets and texture-modified meals
Following food safety and hygiene standards
A reliable, friendly and professional manner
Have a strong focus on food hygiene and cleanliness
