Salary band & range : VTS Salary Range 9 : $99,634 to $124,542 (pro-rated for Part-time hours)
Starting salary will be dependent on skills and experience of the successful applicant.
In addition to salary, we offer overtime, penal time and shift allowances.

The purpose of this role within New Zealand Food Safety, Verification Services is to provide a range of food safety, animal welfare, and biosecurity verification and certification services based at South Pacific Meats (SPM51).
You will support the meat industry and New Zealand's reputation in the world red meat market for the product produced and ensure food safety and export standards are being followed by the plant.
South Pacific Meats Awarua is a sheep and bobby calf processing plant, fifteen minutes' drive to the south of Invercargill, on the way to Bluff.
This position mainly covers late evening / night shift throughout the year, and you will be expected to rotate shifts within the team as required.
Some Saturday processing occurs during sheep season and occasional Sunday processing during bobby calf season, and you would be expected to participate in the Saturday and Sunday roster.
Shifts will be on a 2 day x 10 hour roster and be agreed with the fulltime VTS2 and VTS1 on site.
The role is varied, and you will be expected to do the following :
You will receive full-time technical training prior to being warranted under the relevant legislation.
We have ongoing, on-site training, mentoring and technical support for you in your new role.

You must have a current full New Zealand driver licence (not temporary, learner, or restricted) or equivalent full foreign drivers licence, and any endorsements required for the type of driving you'll be doing.

Reporting to the VTS 1 SPM51, the role sits within the Establishment group of the Verification Services directorate.
MPI Verification Services (MPI VS) provides a range of food safety and biosecurity verification and certification services to support market accessstrategies and setting standards.
About MPI - Mo te Manatu Ahu Matua
Our role includes seizing export opportunities for our food and fibre sector, improving sector productivity, ensuring the food we produce is safe, increasing sustainable resource use, and protecting New Zealand from biological risk.
