Through integration and collaboration, we – re building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whanau-centred care, and excellence.About the RoleThe purpose of this role is to provide support and guidance for Mental Health Addiction and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS) Tangata Whaiora needing community support services.

This is an exciting opportunity to implement Te Ao Maori ways that support Tangata Whenua and their whanau to navigate health and support services by working with nga Kaupapa Maori and NGO service.

The full salary range for this position is $85,000 - $100,000.About the Team / Service LocationThis role sits under the wider MHAID Service in our Maori Mental Health Team reporting to the Director Maori.

You will be part of an innovative, dynamic team that advocate for Tangata Whaiora and whanau to ensure any inequities are being addressed by MHAIDS or Hospital / secondary health services.

You will be able to demonstrate awareness of equity issues and have an understanding of Te Ao Maori (Maori world view and practices such as Whanau ora) principles when working with Tangata Whenua.Can negotiate skilfully in tough situations with both internal and external groupsProven ability to practice Te Ao Maori values, Manaakitanga, Whakawhanautanga and Kotahitanga that build and sustain effective relationshipsWell established local networksSignificant work knowledge in social support services.Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is - the weaving of wellness - .
