Graduate Environmental Scientist – Christchurch
Springline is a new and growing environmental consultancy based in Christchurch. We work across the South Island, delivering practical and technical solutions in contaminated land, construction management, and environmental site management.

The Role
This is a full-time graduate position based in Christchurch. The role offers a mix of fieldwork and office-based reporting, with plenty of opportunity to grow your skills in contaminated land assessment and environmental management.
Your responsibilities will include :
- Assisting with and conducting site investigations (soil, water, and waste sampling).
- Preparing clear, high-quality technical reports in line with New Zealand contaminated land and environmental standards.
- Supporting project delivery to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks.
- Working closely with a small team and engaging directly with clients and contractors.
About You
We’re looking for someone who’s the right fit for our team as much as for the role itself. You’ll bring :
A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geotechnical or civil engineer, or similar earth sciences.Strong written communication and technical rigour - report writing is a big part of what we do.A practical mindset with a can-do attitude.Flexibility, adaptability, and an appreciation for lifestyle balance.A willingness to get stuck in, both in the field and in the office.Bonus points if you love dogs (we have one in the office).Based in New Zealand – we will not consider applicants outside of NZ.Nice-to-haves (but not deal-breakers) :
