Āu ake mahi | What you'll do
With a new CEO and a new Council in place, the People & Capability Group is uniquely positioned to help shape the future of our organisation. This is more than a transition, it's a chance to reimagine how we support, refocus our functions, and lead meaningful change for the Council, its leaders, teams and kaimahi.
We have an opportunity to make a genuine difference to many people, both inside and outside the organisation. It's a moment to do things differently, pioneer, and drive innovation to lift our capability and walk alongside our people with care, expertise and responsiveness.
We're looking for a dynamic and experienced Team Leader Capability Delivery to lead our new Capability Delivery team. This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives on building strong relationships, leading with purpose, and delivering high-impact team and leader development programmes that grow the capability of our people and leaders across the organisation.
As Team Leader, you will lead a high-performing team that operates as an internal consultancy, partnering with leaders and teams to deliver tailored and bespoke development solutions. You'll oversee the evolution of our current programme of work, continuously refining and enhancing it to ensure it remains relevant, impactful, and aligned with organisational priorities. You'll facilitate engaging and effective development programmes, typically up to 50% of your time, ensuring content is relevant, impactful, and continuously improved. You'll also coach and support leaders, including delivering 360 feedback and consultancy services to teams across the organisation.
You’ll lead the design and delivery of induction programmes for new kaimahi and leaders, ensuring they are welcoming, informative, and aligned with our values. A key part of your role will be championing Māori capability development, supporting our Tūpiki Ora Māori Strategy commitments through the design and delivery of tailored learning experiences. You will collaborate closely with the Capability Enablement team to support strategic learning initiatives and ensure future capability readiness.

You'll thrive in a dynamic environment and be passionate about growing others.
