Project Engineer

OverviewGSL is on the lookout for an experienced Project Engineer to join our high performing civil construction team in Christchurch.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you'll take ownership of project delivery from pre-construction through to completion, working closely with site teams, subcontractors, consultants and clients.What you'll be doingOverseeing end-to-end delivery of civil infrastructure projectsManaging construction programmes, site setup and risk mitigationCoordinating site teams, subcontractors, machinery, and materialsInterpreting and implementing technical drawings and specificationsMonitoring project costs, quality, safety, and progressLeading toolbox talks, audits, and site reportingProviding technical and operational support to ensure smooth deliveryWhat we're looking for3–6 years' experience in NZ civil infrastructure (stormwater, earthworks, wetlands ideal)Industry qualification (e.g. NZ Cert Level 5 Infrastructure Works or equivalent)Knowledge of NZS3910, ESC principles and local council requirements such as CCC CSSStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsProficiency in Microsoft 365 apps, including MS Project and AutoCAD, such as 12DFull Class 1 NZ Driver's Licence (Class 2 + WTR a bonus)If you thrive on turning plans into reality and leading site teams to deliver exceptional results, we want to hear from you!
