About the Role
We are seeking applicants to a newposition within Health New Zealand Canterbury, Children's Emergency Care.
A Nurse Practitioner (NP) forChildren's Emergency Care is responsible for providing advanced clinicalexpertise and leadership to enhance access and quality of care for tamariki(children) and their whanau (family).
You will work within a team ofPaediatric and Emergency Consultants, Resident Medical Officer's, andRegistered Nurses.
You will be supported by Nurse Practitioner Groups andreceive direct clinical supervision by the Consultants in Children's Emergency Care.
You will be responsible for :
Utilising evidence-based practice to supporteffective decision making in the holistic : assessment, planning, treatment, andevaluation of clinical care
Utilising knowledge of pathophysiology andpharmacology, as well as advanced assessment skills, to determine comprehensivediagnoses and plans of care in partnership with patients, whanau, and the widercare team.
Collaborate with teams from the Adult Emergencydept, Paediatric Medical and Surgical Services, Child and Family Mental Healthand the Orthopaedic Department.
Your caseload of patients will be aged between0-16yrs.

Children's Emergency Care has been designed especially fortamariki and whanau.
This is reflected not only in the child and familyfriendly environment, but also by the collaborative way the multidisciplinaryhealthcare team work together in partnership with whanau to provide the bestpossible health outcomes for the tamariki who spend time there.
About you
The Nurse Practitioner position isopen to a Nurse Practitioner who is currently working in a Paediatric Emergencyservice
You will be an effectivecommunicator who enjoys working within a wider team and collaborating withother services as required.
You willhave excellent organisational skills and a strong sense of your professional developmentwith motivation to seek ongoing educational opportunities.
You will report directly to theDirector of Nursing Women's and Children's health but have an operationalreporting line to the Charge Nurse Manager of Paediatric Emergency Care.
Minimum 5 years recent clinical experience in apaediatric emergency nursing role
Experience in mentoring, coaching, and informalteaching
A proven ability to work effectively within ateam
Flexible, adaptable, and promotes a positiveattitude within a changing environment
Registered with the Nursing Council of NewZealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
