Due to an exciting internal movement, RNZ islooking for a senior editorial leader to drive our daily news coverage across ouraudio and digital platforms. This is a key role at the centre of our news operations,shaping how our content engages with our audiences on a daily basis.

Te Mahi – About the job

As RNZ’s DayEditor, you’ll lead live news coverage from 6am–2pm, coordinating breakingnews, planning and guiding editorial decisions, and making sure our journalismis high quality, compelling, and has impact.

In this roleyou’ll be responsible for :

• Leadcoordination of live news coverage across digital and audio
• Coordinatebreaking news and editorial priorities
• Workclosely with journalists, editors and news programme teams to deliverhigh-quality content
• Activelycontribute to editorial planning meetings, prioritising stories &contentthat resonates with our audience.
• Monitorthe quality of content and make sure it meets RNZ’s editorial standards.
• Supportstaff, ensuring journalism and content is fresh and relevant, and recognising achievementsin storytelling.

We’relooking for a confident senior editorial leader who has a passion for publicmedia and significant experience in broadcasting and multimedia journalism.
