Formed in 1941, Te Whānau Tupu Ngātahi o Aotearoa – Playcentre Aotearoa is a licensed early childhood education provider and charitable trust. With a philosophy of empowering ‘parents as first educators’, Playcentre seeks to empower whānau and tamariki to work, play, learn and grow together, and today has over 400 centres nationwide.

About the role :

As a Session Facilitator, you’ll support parents, caregivers, and tamariki to run smooth, engaging sessions while modelling Playcentre philosophy and good practice. You’ll help build whānau confidence, encourage emergent leadership, and adapt your support to each centre’s needs.

Duties include but are not limited to :

• Building strong, responsive relationships with tamariki, recognising their strengths, interests, and cultural identities.
• Encouraging exploration, creativity, problem-solving, and independence through rich, open-ended play.
• Supporting safe, well‑prepared sessions by ensuring environments, resources, and equipment are ready and engaging.

About you :

You enjoy working alongside tamariki and whānau, supporting learning through child‑led play and positive guidance. You are hands‑on, organised, independent, and adaptable, helping create a space where others feel confident to join in.
