• About the Role
• : The Emergency Department at Middlemore Hospital provides acute emergency services to around 130,000 adult and paediatric presentations per year and is one of the busiest in Australasia. Middlemore Hospital is situated in a lower socio-economic area and serves a culturally diverse, high need population with high acuity presentations.We are looking for an
• Associate Clinical Nurse Manager (ACNM)
• to assist with leading the Emergency Department Short Stay Unit in meeting Ministry of Health targets and performance indicators. This secondment is to trial different models of care that will help inform future practice.In this exciting and dynamic role, you will need high levels of nursing competence and expertise in relation to Short Stay Emergency nursing. You will work collaboratively with other health professionals to influence flow efficiencies and processes to improve patient outcomes and experience. There may be an opportunity for nurse facilitated discharges within this role in the future.In this fast-paced environment, as the ACNM you will need excellent innovation, interpersonal and communication skills. • Some of the essential work you will be doing :
• Provide exceptional professional and clinical nursing leadership in the Emergency Department Short Stay Unit
• Support and enable the Emergency Department Short Stay Unit to meet key performance indicators with a focus on the Shorter Stays in ED target
• Promote excellence in best practice, and safe, high-quality patient and whaanau centred care, resulting in a great patient experience
• Continue to coach, mentor, and develop the Emergency Department nursing team, supporting, and enabling nurses to work to their top of scopeIf this describes you and your commitment to quality leadership and patent care, please apply immediately.
• About You
• NZ Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
• 5+ years recent clinical experience in NZ, preferably as an ED nurse
• Demonstrated expertise in setting standards and managing excellence in practice
• Relevant Postgraduate qualification completed or enrolled and working towards onePreference will be given to those candidates that have demonstrated an interest in advanced practice and leadership roles in an acute setting.Be part of a team dedicated to delivering excellence in emergency care!
