We're looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join our passionate F&B team in our Dark Sky Diner. This role will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef / Kaitunu matua to create extraordinary culinary delights for our manuhiri (visitors), so if you have a love of kai (food) and baking then this might be the opportunity for you!

Our world-class Astronomy Centre on Takapō lakefront brings to life the science of stars and Tātai aroraki (Māori astronomy) through an immersive and engaging international experience. This experience is a world-first and compliments the range of outdoor experiences that we currently offer to our domestic and international visitors to the region.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef / Kaitunu matua to create extraordinary culinary delights for visitors in the Dark Sky Diner.
• Apply skills across baking and kitchen operations, and manage time effectively.
• Maintain quality and consistency in food preparation and presentation.
• Support the kitchen team in a fast-paced environment, staying cool under pressure.
• Work shifts on weekdays, weekends and public holidays.
