Mō te tūranga | About the role

As our Senior Insight Advisor, you’ll lead the development and delivery of insights across DOC’s Monitoring and Insights system. You’ll work across teams to define insight needs, translate data into compelling narratives, and ensure our work is aligned with DOC’s strategic goals. This is a high‑impact role where your work will directly inform decision‑making and demonstrate the value of DOC’s efforts to protect Aotearoa’s natural heritage.

• Lead the insight work programme and ensure it reflects DOC’s priorities.
• Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.
• Provide quality assurance and mentorship within the Insights and Analytics team.
• Collaborate across DOC and with external partners to commission and deliver insight products.

This is a permanent, full‑time position based in Conservation House, Wellington. Other locations can be considered for the right candidate.

The salary range for this position is $92,912 to $117,570 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory – this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
