What you'll be doing
As a key member of the Legal team and trusted advisor, the Corporate Counsel will be responsible for providing legal advice and services to a range of stakeholders, business units, and key strategic projects.
You can expect to be across the following :
Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements for various stakeholders across the business.
Provide legal advice to the business, including Tower claims and recovery teams
Represent the legal function on key business projects
Review and approve marketing collateral
Interpret, draft and review insurance policy wordings
Assist with litigated claims and corporate litigation
Review corporate material such as management presentations and corporate communications (where required)
Liaise with Tower's external legal advisers (as needed)
What you'll need
To be successful in this role, you will also be able to demonstrate the following :
Solicitor holding a New Zealand practising certificate with 3-5 years' PQE with experience in major law firms or equivalent in- house roles (insurance / financial services experience preferred but not essential).
The ability to deal with a wide range of legal issues while maintaining a consistently high level of service.
A strong customer focus and take pride in building relationships with internal and external customers.
Exceptional communication, negotiation skills with the ability to quickly build trusted relationships.
Attention to detail but with the ability to see the big picture.
Strong time management and organisational skills.
Willingness to think outside the box and consider new ways to approach things.
Team player but with the ability to work autonomously.
