About us
Comcare is an established Mental Health and Housing provider assisting people with mental health or addiction issues to live well in the community. We provide a rich and diverse range of Mental Health Support Services, Housing and Housing Support Services.
About this role
We’re looking for people to be a part of our Canterbury delivery team as we have established a new service partnering with Primary Care General Practices and our Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) colleagues throughout the wider Canterbury region. You will be part of a broader multi-disciplinary team providing service to a specific model of care as described by clear protocols.
You will learn about the approach and work alongside your peers to enhance access to a range of supports in the community. You will walk alongside individuals and their whanau supporting them to achieve their goals towards improved health and wellbeing. This includes linking them with appropriate services in the community.
We are interested to hear from you if you can demonstrate the following
Wide knowledge of community services available in Canterbury, preferable but not essential.
Quick study – you can learn on the go and deliver support to a new approach.
Great communicator able to build relationships quickly with new colleagues and people needing support.
Problem-solver on the go.
Skilled practitioner that can help people achieve and / or set clear goals and support them to implement the plan in a culturally safe way.
This service offers short, targeted interventions to people.
It is desirable that you have aNew Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 - Mental Health and Addiction Support (or equivalent qualification) or are committed to studying towards one.
Experience in the mental health and disability sector would be an advantage.
Applicants must hold a current full, clean driver’s license.
You will have a cultural awareness, knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
