Greenkeeper Assistant

Queens Park Golf Club is seeking a motivated and reliable Assistant Greenskeeper to work within the team to maintain the course to a high standard of presentation and playability, communicating course information to the relevant persons as required. This role will also be required to maintain Health and Safety working practices, whilst taking other members of staff, members, and guests into consideration.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safe working practices.
• Utilize understanding of golf course agronomics, course construction, use of plant nutrients and pesticides, use and maintenance of course equipment, and the irrigation system.
• Carry out maintenance and renovation of all turf grass surfaces and associated areas as necessary.
• Operate all equipment for use and maintenance on the golf course, putting greens, surrounds, tees, fairways, and rough.
• Change hole locations and tee markers.
• Carry out drainage installation and maintenance where and when necessary.
• Carry out irrigation installation and maintenance.
• Carry out construction of greens, tees, fairways, rough, and bunkers as necessary.
• Carry out maintenance of all machinery.
• Operate equipment for hauling materials and removing debris.
• Trim trees, prune and remove fallen trees with the aid of a chainsaw or similar device, with permission of I.C.C. Parks & Reserves.
• Promptly report any issues associated with the course or machinery to the Head Greenkeeper.
• Plant, water, and fertilize trees and shrubs, with permission of I.C.C. Parks & Reserves.
• Report any dangerous, damaged, or fallen trees to the Head Greenkeeper.
• Operate and maintain equipment to the highest standard.
• Perform other duties where necessary.
• Report any mistreatment of equipment.
• Assist in ensuring the golf course is properly laid out and prepared for members and guests to the Club, and that a high standard of presentation of the golf course is maintained.
• Prepare machinery for use.
• Clean machinery after use.
• Promote good environmental practice.
