As a Speech Language Therapist, you will support our region's Learning Support team by assessing and assisting children and young people with communication needs across home, education settings, and community contexts.ResponsibilitiesUnderstand the impact of children and young people's communication needs in home, education, and community contexts.Collaborate with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other specialists to support the development of speech, language and communication skills.Work holistically as part of a trans-disciplinary team when a child's needs are complex.Location and termsLocation : Cromwell, NZ.

Salary range : $69,966 - $106,016 per annum + 3% KiwiSaver.

The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary reflecting individual skills and experience.We are offering : Fixed-term, part-time role to work until June 2026Permanent, part-time role in the Cromwell Office (Southern Lakes Centre)About youA Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Therapy or an equivalent that meets the requirements of the New Zealand Speech-Language Therapists' AssociationSpecialist knowledge of theory, research and practice related to speech-language, child, and human development, and learning and behaviourAbility to translate specialist knowledge into practical informationAbility to coordinate service provision in a multi-agency, trans-disciplinary settingExcellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively with children, young people, families and teachers across diverse settingsUnderstanding and applying the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatangaAbility and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and ConductAbout our groupTe Mahau ¦ Te Tai Whenua is the key interface between the Ministry of Education and education providers.
