Job Summary :
We are looking for concrete or formwork carpenters to join our team to construct, assemble, and maintain formwork, frameworks, and other structures required for concrete and foundation construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and to high quality standards. These are full-time permanent positions, at least 30 hours work per week is guaranteed.
Key Responsibilities :
- Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine formwork requirements.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble timber, plywood, steel, or other materials to create formwork and moulds for concrete.
- Install and align formwork, ensuring proper dimensions, levels, and reinforcement placement.
- Pour, spread, compact, and finish concrete as required.
- Strip and dismantle formwork after concrete has set, and clean, repair, and store reusable materials.
- Understand Steel fixing Standards and assist steel fixers’ work.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized worksite in compliance with company and site safety policies.
- Collaborate with site supervisors, engineers, and other construction workers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Assist with reinforcing steel installation and concrete finishing when required.
Skills and Qualifications :
A qualification equivalent to NZQF Level 4 in a relevant field is required.At least two years of relevant experience may substitute for the qualification listed above.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans.Knowledge of concrete properties, curing, and formwork systems.Competence in using carpentry tools, power equipment, and measuring instruments.Physical strength, stamina, and manual dexterity.Attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving ability.Commitment to workplace health and safety practices.The successful candidates must not have any criminal convictions and be able to pass a drug test.
