Deliver timely, accurate advice to Ministers and senior leaders

T he Business Advisor, Ministerial Services Team, Immigration New Zealand (INZ) contributes to the operational success of the group through the timely delivery of official correspondence, reporting and advice and support to the wider Immigration business groups.
The Ministerial Services team leads and is responsible for providing Ministers and senior officials within INZ and the Ministry with accurate, objective and timely information, analysis and advice across of INZ ministerial reporting, servicing and accountability requirements.
The team oversees the centralised servicing of all INZ ministerial and machinery of government processes.
Key Responsibilities
Coordination of business group input to central planning, policy, performance, reporting, risk management, business continuity planning, and continuous improvement processes
Provision of business advisory services and support as required for the Deputy Secretary - Immigration and the business group.
Preparing responses to Official Information Act requests that meet quality and timeliness requirements.
Coordination and preparation of Immigration content for MBIE and government accountability processes.
Drafting Ministerial replies for the relevant Minister that meet quality and timeliness requirements, including responses to Parliamentary Questions.

Knowledge of ministerial and machinery of government management processes.
Knowledge of business planning cycles, accountability frameworks and reporting systems.
Track record of delivery of quality written advice.
Ability to communicate ideas and provide insightful feedback.
Ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, problem solve and work constructively in managing difficult situations.
Proactive and action orientated with an appreciation of quality service delivery.
Sound organisational and time management skills.
To be eligible for this role you will need to either hold New Zealand citizenship or a New Zealand Permanent Residence class visa.
