Job descriptionGraduate or lawyer with 0 to 3 years’ PQE Experience in criminal law and court appearances preferred Equivalent of Supervised Provider or PAL 1 approval, or in process of completing legal professionals if recent graduate Interest in criminal law defence and advocacy Empathy, resilience, strong work ethic, organisational skills, and attention to detail Competitive salary Supportive, collegial environment Exposure to regular jury trial and appellate work Work-life balance prioritised despite challenging trial hours Opportunity to develop own caseload and run trials with supervision
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing :
- Assist with administrative tasks, legal research, and evidence review
- Prepare for hearings, trials, and appeals
- Appear regularly in court and develop your own caseload
- Assist with trials and, when ready, run your own trials under supervision
- Work within Augusta Chambers, specialising in criminal law
