Tenei turanga - About the Role : As the Manager Digital Engagement, you'll be at the forefront of shaping how New Zealanders interact with MBIE online, ensuring our channels are accessible, integrated, and future-focused.

An ability to communicate complex ideas clearly is essential, as is experience working across multi-disciplinary teams to achieve shared outcomes.
You will thrive on problem-solving, using insights and evidence to shape initiatives that drive meaningful, measurable improvements for both customers and the wider organisation.
Responsibilities
Lead Digital Engagement : You ensure our digital channels and content are fit for purpose, helping customers understand their rights and responsibilities, and supporting them to act
Champion Customer Experience : You deliver strategic advice and services that support MBIE's outcomes and the needs of business partners and stakeholders, while always putting the customer at the centre
Drive Innovation & Best Practice : You provide technical and leadership expertise, grow MBIE's digital maturity, and champion data-led methods to continually enhance our digital engagement performance
Collaborate Across Teams : You work closely with colleagues in Online Channels and the wider Ministry, contributing to strategic objectives and supporting a collaborative, high-performing team culture

Skills and Experience Required
You have a deep and current understanding of digital engagement channels (websites, tools, and system applications), including Government Web standards, accessibility, user experience, and plain language requirements
You bring extensive experience in leading teams within complex organisations or the public sector, championing collaboration and driving group priorities
You are skilled in building professional relationships with key internal and external partners, and have a track record of successful vendor and supplier management, including contract negotiations
You thrive in environments with ambiguity and change, demonstrating flexibility, strategic thinking, and the ability to make decisions and act without having the total picture
You are committed to continuous improvement, with a strong delivery focus, and have experience in developing high-performing teams and fostering a culture of innovation and learning
Must have the legal right to live and work in NZ
