Assistant Accountant

OverviewIf you're an experienced Assistant Accountant who's confident in both the day to day finance tasks and supporting month end processes, this could be a really exciting opportunity for you to take the next step in your career with a growing business.This is a full-time role based in Parnell, where you'll be the go to finance support for the CFO.

It's ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, is naturally curious, and enjoys getting stuck into a bit of everything.

While the role is office based, there may be the occasional need to travel to the company's other site, so having a full NZ driver's license is essential.What you'll be doingThe role is broad and hands on, with a mix of transactional and reporting work.

You\'ll handle accounts payable and receivable, process payments and receipts, complete reconciliations and help prepare month end reports.

You\'ll also be responsible for GST returns, maintaining fixed asset registers, compiling export documentation and supporting general office operations.Because the business is growing and evolving, priorities can shift quickly, so you'll need to be someone who's flexible, able to pivot when needed, and happy to pitch in to help where it's needed most.ResponsibilitiesProcess accounts payable and receivableReconcile supplier statements and prepare paymentsProcess bank and credit card transactionsPrepare monthly P&L and balance sheet reconciliationsSupport monthly and annual financial reportingMaintain the intellectual property and fixed asset registersPrepare and submit GST returnsCompile export documentation and maintain travel logsGeneral office admin like managing couriers, kitchen supplies and answering phonesProvide support to the MD and CFO across a wide range of business activitiesTo be successful in the role, you'll needProven experience in a similar Assistant Accountant roleStrong knowledge of Excel and ideally experience with SAP B1Strong communication skillsA full NZ driver\'s licenceThe ability to work independently, but also know when to ask questionsAn adaptable and flexible approach to workWhat you'll get in returnThe chance to be part of a global company that's growingVariety in your day to day - this is not a silo-ed finance roleThe opportunity to grow with the business and take on more responsibility as you're readyA leadership team that values trust and doesn't micromanageA supportive and collaborative working environmentWhat's next?
