Management Accountant

About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive
Management Accountant
to join their Contracting division.
This role provides high-quality management accounting services to support the Commercial Manager and Operations team in strategic planning and commercial decision-making.
Key responsibilities include month-end reporting, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, pricing reviews, and support with ad hoc financial reporting and projects.
You'll play a vital role in promoting financial accuracy and operational efficiency while fostering strong working relationships across the business.
A keen eye for detail, commitment to meeting deadlines, and a passion for continuous improvement are essential.
Key Responsibilities
1. Budgeting, Forecasting & Commercial Reporting
Prepare budget and forecast templates.
Support annual budgeting, quarterly forecasts, and monthly business reporting.
Coordinate pricing reviews and update processes.
2. Month-End and Year-End Reporting
Complete month / year-end processes, including journals and reconciliations.
Provide insightful monthly analysis for budget holders.
Report on labour and plant productivity.
Manage and report on Work in Progress (WIP).
3. Accounts Receivable Management
Oversee invoicing and payment processes.
Implement credit policies to minimise bad debt.
Monitor payments and resolve billing issues.
4. Fixed Assets and Capex Control
Manage capital expenditure budgets.
Report on fixed asset performance.
Ensure compliance from acquisition to disposal.
Conduct physical asset inventories as required.
5. Ad Hoc Projects and Reporting
Provide analysis and reporting as requested.
6. People & Relationships
Respond to stakeholder queries.
Foster open communication within the team.
Role model positive behaviour aligned with values.

7. Continuous Improvement
Drive process efficiencies and internal audits.
Recommend improvements to safety, procedures, or work practices.

Manage working capital in line with targets.
Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CA or CPA designation preferred.
Experience
3–5 years of financial or management accounting experience.
Experience in utilities or contracting industries preferred.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in ERP / MRP systems – JDE preferred.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
