QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Redpath Partners have been engaged by an established client to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor into their commercial team. Our client is a well-respected national contractor who have a rich history of delivering outstanding projects throughout New Zealand and this position will be based out of their head office in the heart of Canterbury, Christchurch.

The portfolio of projects will consist of commercial builds, multi-unit developments, and retirement villages throughout New Zealand.

After securing a number of high-profile developments there is now an exciting opportunity for a talent individual who is ready for the next step in their career.

The role

Reporting into the Commerical Manager, you will step into a business and team with a clear vision and a strong senior leadership team driven by a common goal.

Your position will be focused on managing the commercial elements of awarded contracts in a main contractor capacity, the major project you initially engaged on is valued at $30M.

Key responsibilities will include :

• Cost controlling and internal budgeting
• Forecasting and financial reporting
• Preparing and managing subtrade packages and tenders
• Assessing progress claims and variations

About you :

We’re looking for an experience Quantity Surveyor with an extensive background working for a residential or commercial contractor, who understands the pressures of live delivery and wants to play a critical role in the successful outcomes of key projects within the business.

You’ll need to have the following :

• Diploma or Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying
• Proficient at handling projects from contract awarded to client handover
• Extensive knowledge of NZ Build Contracts 3916, 3915 and 3910
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Approach your work a with a high level of integrity
