Role PurposeTo provide specialized ear care through a professional, high quality ear health micro-suction specialist service.
Through this service, identify ear health issues to be able to provide appropriate treatments.Key AccountabilitiesPerform procedures such as micro-suction to remove earwax and other obstructionsDiagnose and treat ear conditions, identifying issues such as infections, hearing loss and other ear-related health problems and provide appropriate treatments.Educate patients, offering guidance on ear health, preventative care, and how to manage chronic conditions.Collaborate with healthcare professionals by working closely with audiologists and Audiometrists, general practitioners and other specialists to ensure comprehensive care for patients.Ensure all equipment is maintained and repaired to a professional standardMaintain and comply with appropriate infectious control procedures.Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting examinations, treatments, and follow-up care.Facilitation of Hearing Screening assessments via the AMTAS units (if applicable).
Training will be providedQualificationsPrevious clinical experience as an Ear Health Nurse Micro-Suction Specialist.
(preferable)A fully registered General Nurse as recognised by the New Zealand Nursing Council.ExperiencePrevious experience in a similar roleAbility to think creatively when reviewing data and to develop resultant action plansAbility to multi-task and prioritise effectivelyDemonstrated effectiveness in being a valued part of a cohesive teamSuperior written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in other MS Office programmes highly desirableSkills and AbilitiesCompetent knowledge of all Ear Health Specialist issues, solutions, management and treatments.Competent at meeting clients Ear Health needs or referring on if and when appropriate.Seeks advice and support from other relevant professionals when required.Is able to work in various work environments and clinic locations as needed by the demands of the business.Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and other healthcare professionalsMeticulous attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and precise execution of procedures.Strong teamwork skills to work effectively with audiologists, general practitioners, and other healthcare providers.Competent at report writing to clients, referrers and other allied health professions as required.We are offeringA competitive renumeration package Salary Part-time (Tuesday & Wednesday).
