Software Integration and Technology Specialist
The Software Specialist is a technical role within Software Service.
This role understands protein processing, reviews technical requirements and delivers JBT Marel Software solutions.
The role also delivers on-site technical services, proprietary software upgrades and remote support for customers.
A person in this role can configure the JBT Marel software platform to achieve customer requirements or resolve issues.
This involves gathering requirements or fault information through communications with all levels of business, running workshops with customers, and documenting end-to-end system designs and decisions.
Main Tasks
There are two main objectives of this role :
Deliver excellent software services to support customers in day-to-day operation.
Delivery of device installation and software implementation projects to meet JBT Marel's customer requirements.
Software Services
Provide remote delivery of services to customers for running JBT Marel Software systems, including modifications and maintenance.
Provide on-site delivery of JBT Marel Software upgrades and go-live production support.
Provide user training for customers and internal sharing of knowledge for JBT Marel employees.
Create knowledge base articles for new configurations and known issue resolution.
Provide services to fulfil scheduled Service Level Agreement contracted tasks.
Configure JBT Marel Software as applicable.
Device Installation and Software Implementation
Technical configuration and deployment of JBT Marel Software in level 1 and 2 projects according to documented designs.
Participate in specification workshops with customers and handle technical conversations with customers' IT teams.
Document technical specifications for customer systems.
Support review processes and validate requirements to avoid implementation issues.
Provide price estimates with manager support for level 1 modifications.
Build interfaces between JBT Marel Software and third-party or embedded software.
Provide input for JBT Marel Software development processes and support improvement delivery.
Report project issues to the Project Manager and take control in supporting the solution.
Skills and Abilities
Technical
Tertiary qualifications in IT (or equivalent experience).
Good knowledge of Windows operating systems on PCs and servers.
Knowledge of Python (C#, Java would be a plus).
MS SQL database knowledge and at least 3 years of experience with SQL.
Ability to troubleshoot network problems including TCP / IP, Ethernet, cabling, switches.
Understanding of XML, XSLT and XSD.
Ability to document and explain technical concepts.
Knowledge of integration techniques; file formats, messaging, etc.
Familiar with remote access-related hardware / software utilities and service products.
Experience with label designing, 1D and 2D barcodes, GS1 standards.
Experience configuring and deploying Marel Software or similar software.
Communication
Ability to build relationships with customers and co-workers; work well within a team.
Good written and verbal English skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Support in managing the customer change process when adapting to best practices.
Ability to train others.
Business Skills
Experience providing excellent customer service.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
Ability to apply software testing methods, tools, and techniques.
Production process knowledge within the food industry.
Strategic thinking; ability to turn concepts into solutions and run systems.
Experience in a service desk or call centre environment is a plus.
Experience and comfort working in a multicultural, multidisciplinary organization.
Ability to travel domestic and international up to 30 %.
