The Senior Education Advisor – Early Learning role is part of our Education Advisory service that supports the education sector to implement education priorities.ResponsibilitiesCommunicating government priorities, strategies and statutory requirements and obligations, and ensuring these are well understood and delivered by providers.Identifying, brokering, and providing implementation support for early learning initiatives.Work with the education sector to implement priorities through proactive, consistent supports and services from regional teams.DetailsFull-time, fixed-term role to 30 September 2026In our Whangarei OfficeLocation : Whangarei, NZSalary range : $84,425 - $102,271 per annum + 3% KiwiSaver.
Appointment salary reflects individual skills and experience.About you / QualificationsSpecialist knowledge, skills and expertise in early learning and the regulatory framework that governs early learning.Experience in building relationships and influencing change to achieve outcomes.Ability to use data and insights to identify trends, risks and opportunities.Strong engagement and communication skills, including high quality advice – written and verbal.Ability to work as part of an integrated team delivering services to the education sector; collaborate with others to solve problems.Ability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.Ability and willingness to adhere to Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.Tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education or other relevant discipline.About our groupTe Mahau | Te Tai Raro provides leadership and integrated services to the education sector and others, including learning support, education advice and regulation functions for schools and early learning services, and curriculum guidance.
