Asset Data Analyst – Fixed Term
Position Description

About the role
Our Asset Data Analysts work closely with Metros leaders to analyse key asset indicators, identify gaps for improvement and make recommendations to KiwiRail managers to enhance the overall operational performance of the assets in the Metros.
Key accountabilities
Work with multiple sources (e.g., Maximo, Engineering inspections, Eddy current reports, PAUT / NDT / EM80 reports, ATIS reports) to understand and report on the condition and trending of infrastructure assets
Collaborate with Field Asset Engineers, Workbank Planners / Schedulers and Field Production Managers to support efficient scheduling of work
Review and provide summary reports on service requests and work orders
Assist with assurance and reporting for Metros, ensuring compliance with regulatory and policy requirements
Identify non-compliance, and support mitigations and corrective actions
Act as SME for Asset Management, Business Plans, and systems used by Network teams
Analyse asset condition, trends, options, and materials to support Asset Management Plans
Produce various reports including asset updates, service requests, inspections and code compliance items
Be recognised as a Maximo reporting expert
What you will bring
Knowledge and experience
Proven track record contributing to positive project outcomes in complex multi-disciplinary environments
Experience delivering rail projects is advantageous; Project Management Professional certification is a plus
Knowledge of project management methodologies and reporting, including risk management, design, specification, and production for assigned projects
Previous project engineering experience; ideally in rail or construction
Experience contributing to key project documentation and delivering quality outputs
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage own workload
Focus on productivity, cost control, and continuous improvement throughout the project
Ability to assess risks and scope changes, recommending solutions to minimise impact on cost, timeliness and quality
Maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely communication of progress and impacts

Be pragmatic and flexible, balancing the needs of team, project, and KiwiRail
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in a related discipline
Project Management qualifications (PRINCE2, PMP) or equivalent
Relevant industry and / or project management certifications
