Reporting to the National Procurement Manager, you'll manage local procurement, ensure cost-effective purchasing, and maintain optimal inventory levels to support our infrastructure, construction, and manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

Purchase inventory at optimal price, volume, and quality to meet sales targets

Review and manage stock levels, raising purchase orders within DOA limits

Liaise with suppliers and logistics partners to ensure timely deliveries

Maintain accurate master planning data and FX hedging reports

Support S&OP processes and resolve supplier performance issues promptly

Communicate effectively with category managers, branches, and national specialists

About You

2+ years' experience in a buyer role within distribution or manufacturing

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make recommendations

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for stakeholder engagement

Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP / MRP / DRP systems

Knowledge of procurement processes; NZPICS, CIPS, or relevant qualifications desirable

Understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements in the steel industry
