Job overviewSteel & Tube, one of New Zealand's leading providers of steel solutions and a proud New Zealand company with over 70 years of history, is seeking a skilled Buyer to join our National Support Centre in Auckland.
Reporting to the National Procurement Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in managing local procurement, ensuring cost-effective purchasing, and maintaining optimal inventory levels to support our diverse operations across infrastructure, construction, and manufacturing sectors.As a Buyer, you'll oversee the purchasing process for finished goods like screws, bolts, and other critical components, working closely with category managers and suppliers to secure the best pricing and quality.
Your analytical mindset will help you review inventory data, forecast needs, and make strategic decisions to balance cost and supply efficiency.
You'll also collaborate with logistics partners to ensure timely deliveries, maintain accurate system records, and support the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
This role requires a proactive communicator who can build strong relationships with vendors and internal teams while adhering to Steel & Tube's core values of unity, integrity, and accountability.
