Job descriptionDevelop and implement optimization models for assortment and space allocation decisions. Deliver actionable, data-driven assortment insights from large-scale retail datasets. Evaluate predictive models and machine learning algorithms related to product substitution effects. Contract Duration : Initial 6 month contract with a strong chance of extension. Remuneration : Competitive contract rates. Start Date : Full-time hours (40 hours / week), ASAP start. Location : Anywhere in New Zealand, fully remote role. SENIOR DATA SCIENTIST - (CONTRACT)
We are seeking a highly analytical Senior Data Scientist to champion Mathematical Optimization for retail assortment planning and space allocation. This is a high-impact contract role with a premier retail technology client focused on solving complex operational challenges.
ROLE DETAILS
- Position : Senior Data Scientist - Assortment Optimization
- Core Focus : Mathematical optimization for assortment planning, category space, and planogram strategy.
- Technical Stack : Expertise in Python (optimization libraries, scikit-learn), SQL, and advanced Choice Modeling (Logit, Neural Models).
- Experience : Developing optimization / predictive models. Strong analytical backgrounds from Logistics, Finance, or Tech are highly valued.
