IT System Development Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IT System Development Manager (permanent full time) to lead and manage the technical development of our key system initiatives. This role is pivotal in delivering robust, scalable, and efficient system solutions that align with company's strategic and operational goals. This role can either be based in our Christchurch (Hornby) or Hokitika office.

In this senior role, you will serve as the key link between our business teams and digital experts, ensuring technology solutions align seamlessly with business objectives and support day-to-day operations. Responsibilities

• Lead the development and management of systems including Oracle ERP, Warehouse Management Systems, Laboratory Information Systems, and Microsoft Power automate no code low code solutions.
• Ensure system development is of high quality, standardized, efficient, and fully traceable.
• Continuously optimize system development processes within.
• Actively contribute to the technical development (hands on development), supporting a small but highly capable team. Be proficient in development of one of our core systems.
• Foster a positive culture focused on code quality, defect reduction, and effective testing in line with agile practices.
• Comply with global responsibilities, quality procedures, and relevant regulations while delivering all aspects of the role.

Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in software development, including the management of software development within medium to large organizations. They will hold a bachelor\'s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Strong technical development expertise in ERP, WMS, or related system development is essential. The role requires proven experience leading small, high-performing teams, with a hands-on approach (development) focused on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
