About us

The Labour Leader’s Office (LLO) supports the Labour Leader and members of Parliament in their parliamentary duties by providing a range of professional, timely, accurate, and high-quality political services, advice, and support. The office is funded through the Parliamentary Service.

This includes communications services (written, printed and digital), press secretaries, advisory, events and operational support and services to MPs. The office provides overall management and financial oversight of Parliamentary Services funding for the party.

About the role

As a Designer, you will provide a wide range of in-house graphic design services to Labour Members of Parliament. Services include developing MP publicity material and managing the print production process, as well as creating high-impact graphics for social media channels.

A snapshot of some of your daily responsibilities include :

• Provide graphic design services to the Labour Party Leader and Labour MPs.
• Undertake design work across multiple, and complex projects for print and digital collateral, ensuring work is of a high standard, in alignment with Labour’s brand standards and audience appropriate.
• Create impactful social media content, working with the wider digital team
• Responsible for the overall design production from concept to end-product delivery, on time and within budget.
• Manage print production, provide advice and manage the Publicity sign-off process.
• Ensure design requests are completed to a high standard in a timely manner and ensure the client is keep informed of progress.
• Provide brand guardianship for the Labour Party’s Parliamentary publicity.
• Develop appropriate client management processes and suitable support material.
• Manage design files so that they are easily accessible and the filing system is maintained

Qualifications / experience

Employees are employed on an 'events based' agreement, with your employment linked to the Leader of the Labour Party. This role is based at the Parliamentary precinct in Wellington, for 24 hours per week.
