About the RoleSushi Ball House is looking for an experienced Cook to join our team at our Ilam location in Christchurch.
This is a full-time, permanent position suited for someone with proven experience in preparing and cooking Japanese cuisine.
Key Responsibilities : Check ingredients and raw materials to ensure they meet quality and freshness standardsOperate and monitor cooking equipment such as grills, ovens, fryers, and rice cookersPrepare and cook a variety of Japanese dishes, including hot and cold menu itemsTaste and adjust seasonings during the cooking process to maintain flavour consistencyPlate meals in an appealing and accurate manner, adding sauces, garnishes, and side accompaniments as requiredFollow food safety practices, including proper storage of ingredients in chilled or heated environmentsPrepare meals to accommodate customer dietary needs or allergy requirements when requestedAssist in planning and updating menus, estimating ingredient quantities needed for serviceMay be involved in training or mentoring junior kitchen staff and apprentices in Japanese cooking techniques
Requirements : To be considered for this role, you must have :
