Work Location : Canterbury region

Employment type : Full time (guaranteed 30 hours / per week, Monday to Sunday), Permanent

Our pay : $25-$26 per hour depending on skills and experience

We are a well-established popular restaurant based in Christchurch. To enhance our team, we are now looking for 1 pastrycook to join our team. We are expecting someone who has attention to details, ability to multi task and be a proactive member of the team.

Ideal candidates should have at least 2 year’s work experience in cooking at commercial kitchen, or have a relevant level 4 qualification in cookery or equivalent certificates.

Tasks Include :

• Carrying out regular baking and frying duties for pastry food
• Checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients.
• Kneading,maturing,cutting,moulding,mixing,and shaping dough and pastry goods
• Preparing pastry fillings.
• M onitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times.
• P reparing and making bake floss buns, cakes and pastry goods.
• Decorating pastries using different cream, icings and toppings to ensure the presentation will be beautiful.
• Taking out the pastry from the forms, trays, unloading the finished products
• Monitoring stocks for baking ingredients such as flour and sugar and making appropriate orders within budget.
• Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards.
• Managing and planning time and resources well
