The roles | Te tunga

We have a Statistical and Data Analyst role in the Economic Indicators unit in our Insights & Statistics branch.

Our teams produce, and support the production of, a wide range of statistics, from high-profile quarterly data to high-frequency data that brings the story of New Zealand to life.

As a Statistical and Data Analyst, you\'ll prepare and analyse data, apply sound judgment, and draw meaningful conclusions within relevant conceptual frameworks and real-world contexts.

Working alongside our experts, you will play a key role in producing some of New Zealand\'s key statistical releases, ensuring they meet best practices and provide valuable insights.

Economic Indicators

• This team sits within the Statistical Delivery - Macroeconomic branch and is responsible for various short-term measures including monthly Employment Indicators, Electronic Card Transactions, Building Consents, Quarterly Building Activity, Business Financial Data, Retail Trade and Business Employment Data.

These roles would suit someone who can bring :

A genuine interest in economic data

Curiosity, strong data analysis skills, and a natural ability to problem solve.

Great written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with a range of people.

A bachelor\'s degree in a relevant field such as economics, accounting, social science, computer science, statistics.

Knowledge or commitment to developing understanding of Te Tiriti, Tikanga, Te Reo, Te Ao Maori

Demonstrated advocacy for, or support of, diversity and inclusion.
