Senior Science Analyst

Overview

• Community Preparedness and Response to Hazards
• Public Transport

The focus of this role is to analyse and display environmental data to provide meaningful insights that meet the needs of our internal and external customers.

More about the role :

You’re a senior data analyst or data scientist and have solid experience working with data from different sources; preferably environmental such as water quality, hydrology, air, ecology, or climate. You are adept at writing code, using data visualisation tools and establishing data pipelines. You have a natural ability to teach and upskill others, and a desire for continuous learning and innovation. You’ll have a master’s degree in a relevant field plus 2 years professional experience, or a bachelor’s degree plus 5 years professional experience is essential.

Hours of work – Permanent full-time position - From time to time, as required, the role may require work outside of normal work hours for emergency and flood response and to represent Environment Canterbury at meetings and events with partners, other agencies, and the community.

Location - This position is predominantly based at 200 Tuam Street, Christchurch

Salary - The indicative salary range for role is $74,306 to $91,790 per annum depending on skills and experience. The specific salary will be discussed at interview stage.
