Deckhand

We are looking for Deckhands to join the team in Auckland!

This role is to deliver world class ferry service which is operated safely, reliably and delivers an execeptionally high standard of service and qualify to our customers.

The role is a permanent, full time role with a minimum guarantee of 40 hours per week.

Job Description

This role is to assist the assigned vessel's Skipper to maintain safety and quality standards and to provide effectivel leadership of the team to exceed customer service expectations.

You are also expected to ensure the assigned vessel is running optimally, that any On Board Crew meet the requirements of marine and passenger services.

Your tasks also include but are not limited to :

• Deck duties : responsible for all aspects of deck work prescribed by the allocated vessel's specific training, or as directed by the allocated Skipper.
• Engine Room Duties : undertake engine room duties including : engine startup / shutdown, engine monitoring, periodic engine room checks, etc.
• Customer Service : Ensure a high level of customer service delivery and provide regular feedback to the Skipper
• Staff supervision : Ensure OBS / OBSD aboard the allocated vessel are present and performing duties as prescribed by vessel's specific training to company standards
• Food & Beverage : Ensure stocklevels are maintained
• Special charters : Check briefing sheet and liaise with group and charters as to special requirements. Allocate duties to OBS / OBSD crew as required.
• Cash-ups and Requisitions : Check and verify cash ups, float values, ticket stock, banking and payment related process completed correctly.
