OverviewOur WhyDatacom works with organisations and communities across Australia and New Zealand to make a difference in people's lives and help them to use the power of tech to innovate and grow.About The RoleThe Field Engineer (Contract) is responsible for providing highly visible customer support through on-site installation, diagnosing, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems.
The role is on-site with one of our key clients and will, at least initially, cover mornings at one client and afternoons at another, in Auckland.
This may change at any point in the future.

EligibilityPlease note : Due to the security requirements of our customers, this role is only available to New Zealand Citizens and / or Permanent Residents who have lived in NZ for a minimum of 5 consecutive years.
What You'll DoOn-site support across multiple clients (varying locations) – may require a valid NZ driver's licence and your own vehicle.Serve as the company liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.Build and support end-user devices (PCs, laptops, thin clients, printers, mobiles, tablets).
Diagnose faults, troubleshoot, and solve problems.Provide Windows desktop and server, and network support.Develop productive working relationships across colleagues, clients, and suppliers.May include any aspect of field support; not limited to system hardware and software, PCs, and networking / wireless networking.
What You'll BringTo be successful, you should have experience in a similar role with a wide range of general IT skills.
You'll need to be a self-starter with good organisation and attention to detail, and possess : 2+ years of relevant IT experience.Experience with installation, diagnosis, and repair of PC systems, end-user devices and software (e.g., laptops, desktops, tablets, Intune, O365, current Windows OS).
Working familiarity with server and networking equipment.Ability to work on assignments of moderate scope requiring analysis of various factors.Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organisational goals.Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to translate user needs into technical solutions.Excellent customer relationship building and management skills.Effective presentation skills to convey technical information across various levels.
