Residential Peer Support Worker
Contract : Casual (work offered on an as and when required basis)
Service operates 24 hours, 7 days a week on a rotating roster.
Overnight shifts are from 11pm to 7am.

The Service | Ko Te Whare O Piri Pono
Piri Pono is a 5-bed residential, acute alternative to hospitalisation.
Peer led, it is staffed with both nurses and support workers.
Guests may stay up to 10 days in a homelike environment with a holistic approach to wellness.
Role | Nga mahi
Peer support is a challenging but rewarding role that utilizes your lived experience of mental distress to positively impact others.
You will build relationships with participants and work together to gain new perspectives, while developing awareness of personal and relational patterns.
You will | Nga Pukenga
Have experienced your own mental distress and recovery
Be working towards or hold a National Certificate in Health and Wellbeing L4 or equivalent
Ability to work in a team and from a bicultural perspective
Professionalism with good boundaries and ethics
Experience in mental health and / or addictions (alcohol and other drugs)
Full NZ Driver's Licence
Valid / current work visa, residency, or citizenship
Passion for supporting others on their recovery journey
