About your team / Ko te tīma
Our Regulatory Assurance team provides expert advice on regulatory best practice, including through managing WorkSafe’s Practice Framework – the source of truth for how we deliver our regulatory services.
The team also supports the effective implementation of operational policy and regulatory changes and provides internal assurance activities to support continuous improvement of core regulatory activities.
About the role / Ō te tūranga
This role is responsible for maintaining our standards in regulatory decision‑making by overseeing the quality assurance and control framework. This role ensures decisions are consistent, reliable, and continuously improving through timely quality control reviews, performance analysis, and collaboration with key stakeholders to drive initiatives that enhance decision‑making quality.
What you’ll do / Ko tōu ake mahi
The Senior Advisor provides evidence‑based advice while building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, co‑designing and implementing initiatives that improve the consistency, quality, and continuous improvement of regulatory decision‑making. This includes developing structured quality control schedules, setting clear standards, identifying process improvements, and proactively managing risks to ensure alignment with WorkSafe’s strategic goals.
In addition, the Senior Advisor oversees and monitors quality assurance processes through regular reviews and performance assessments, analyses data to uncover trends, incorporates feedback to inform improvements, prepares clear reporting, and identifies training and resource needs to support high‑quality regulatory decisions across the organisation.

Salary range / Awhe utu
As part of our remuneration framework the full salary range for the position is from $111,204 to $146,382, and our expected starting base salary for the right person is from $111,204 to $122,930. Note : KiwiSaver / SSRSS employer contribution is additional to your base salary.
