We are currently seeking a highly motivated, experienced Drill Operator / Locator to join our high performing Christchurch Team.
As a Drill Operator / Locator you will require a broad range of skills and abilities ensure work is carried out to industry and company standards.
The Role
This role requires a balance of working independently and collaborating with a dynamic team to get the job done right.
Weekend availability essential and willingness to complete night work.
Operate the directional drill or other equipment to complete build works as detailed by drawings and our clients' standards.
Ensure all prestart documentation, permits, quality assurance, and compliance documentation is completed.
Perform and deliver work activity as per agreed designs and project specifications.
Locate services and interpret utility plans.
Monitor drilling progress – ensure optimal performance and alignment with project objectives.
Conduct routine inspections and perform preventative maintenance on directional drilling machinery.
Collaborate effectively with the team to efficiently and safely achieve project goals.
What you bring
Minimum 2-3 years Directional Drilling operation and locating
Proven experience labouring within civil teams – physically fit
New Zealand Class 1 Full Drivers Licence
Wheels, Tracks and Rollers endorsement
Class 2 are preferred but not essential
Traffic Management
Strong logic, planning and problem-solving ability
Respect for others with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
