A desirable candidate should be :
Have 2 years' relevant work experience.
Positive, punctual, honest, good at teamwork.
The minimum rate of pay is $28 / hour-$30 / hour, the minimum hour of work is 30 hours per week, 5 days a week.
Duties and responsibilities :
- preparing raw ingredients
- examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
- regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
- preparing and cooking food on the menu
- seasoning food during cooking
- portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
- storing food in temperature-controlled facilities
- preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
- ordering food supplies, organising deliveries and restocking shelves
- may plan menus and estimate food requirements
- may train other kitchen staff and apprentices
